Privacy
The app has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. It does not send your songs, your song list, or anything about your singing anywhere. Everything happens on your own devices and your own network.
AktivKTV plays karaoke videos you already have. It reads them from the device you install it on, or from a library server on your own network.
It collects nothing. There is no account to create, no email address to give, and no usage data sent to us or to anyone else. We do not know how many songs you have, which ones you play, or that you have opened the app at all.
The app asks Android for permission to read videos so it can find your karaoke files without you hunting through a file browser. It reads video files only — not photos, documents, messages or contacts — and the list of what it finds never leaves the device.
Decline the permission and the app still works; you pick files by hand instead.
When guests request songs from their phones, they type a name so the screen can show whose turn it is. That name and the song they picked are held by whichever device is running the room — a computer in the venue, or the tablet itself — for as long as the song is in the queue. It is not sent to us.
Guests do not install anything, create an account, or give an email address. A short identifier is kept in their phone's browser so the room can tell one guest from another and apply any per-guest song limit. It contains nothing about them and disappears when they clear their browser data.
If you paste a YouTube link, the video is played by YouTube's own player, and YouTube will see that request as it would any other. That part is covered by Google's privacy policy, not ours. Nothing is sent to us.
The site runs no analytics and no third-party scripts. The only outside request a page makes is for the web font, which is served by Google Fonts and means Google sees the request. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to count downloads.
If you send a licence request, the form opens your own email app — the details go to us by email and nowhere else. We keep them so we can issue your licence and help you later. Ask us and we will delete them.
Payments are made by GCash or bank transfer directly to us. We see what your bank or GCash shows us: your name, the amount and the reference. We never see card numbers, and there is no checkout on this site that could collect them.
AktivKTV is a tool for playing your own video files. It is not aimed at children, collects nothing from anyone, and contains no advertising.
If this ever changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and say what is different. We do not expect it to: collecting nothing is the design, not a temporary position.
